Natural light fills the apartment throughout the day.

Old Batumi is where the city's story began. When porto-franco status arrived

in 1878 and the Baku-Batumi oil railway followed in 1883, a cosmopolitan

trading city quickly took shape here. The neighbourhood still shows its layered

past: Ottoman, Belle Epoque, Russian Imperial, and Art Nouveau facades stand

side by side on the same cobblestone streets.

The Cathedral of the Mother of God is a few minutes from your door on the same

street, at number 51. Built between 1898 and 1903 in neo-Gothic style for the

merchant Stepane Zubalashvili, it is Batumi's largest church. Piazza Square,

with its ornate facades and evening live music, is around ten minutes north on

foot. Europe Square and the golden Medea statue are a similar distance.

The Argo Cable Car lower station is about ten minutes away, with gondolas

running up to a hilltop viewing platform above the city and the Black Sea, plus

a wine shop, restaurant, and summer folklore evenings at the top. 6 May Park,

with its lake, pedal boats, and 16-hectare green space, is roughly fourteen

minutes away.

Laguna on Zurab Gorgiladze Street, open since 1997 and known for Adjarian

khachapuri, is around ten minutes on foot. RETRO on Gogebashvili Street is

another option for Georgian food, with sea views from its terrace in the city's

historic first stone building, about eleven minutes away. Both are

long-established restaurants in the neighborhood.

The Batumi Boulevard is around eight minutes on foot. The neighborhood is safe

and regularly patrolled.

The Boulevard is an eight-minute walk from the apartment, placing the Black Sea

Pebble Beach is within easy reach.

Batumi is a small, walkable city — most of the main sights, restaurants, and the

Boulevard is reachable on foot from the center. Buses cost 70 tetri per ride

and can be paid by card. For routes and schedules, we recommend downloading the

Batumi Bus app. Bolt and other taxi apps are available and inexpensive. The

airport is close — roughly 10-15 minutes by car, though allow extra time on

busy summer days.

Getting to Batumi from Tbilisi: the overnight or daytime train takes around 5

hours and is comfortable and modern. By car, the journey is around 4 hours.

Buses and minibusses also run regularly.
