Airbnb apartment design in Tbilisi: standing out on a budget

Nika's flat in the centre was freshly renovated and still not ready for guests. With 5,000 lari, we changed that.

Nika's apartment is in the centre of Tbilisi. A long-term tenant never paid him enough to make up for the wear a long tenancy leaves behind. Renting to visitors pays far better, but it takes more time and more work.

The interior was the hard part. With so many flats competing for the same guests, an apartment with an old or unremarkable interior hardly gets booked, and even Nika's newly renovated flat fell short of what Airbnb guests expect. So he handed it to us.

Our goal was to make the interior more appealing to visitors, and the budget was small: 5,000 lari. We repainted the walls, renovated the kitchen and changed some of the furniture, and together that changed the whole interior.

The new design transformed the apartment, which is a lot to get for that sum. Bookings rose sharply, Nika earned back what he had spent within a few months, and the flat now rents for more than it did before.
