Airbnb photography in Tbilisi: how better photos raised income

Tako's guests kept saying her flat was nicer than its pictures. New photographs brought the bookings, and then a higher price.

Tako had been renting her apartment on Airbnb for several months when the same thing kept coming up in her reviews: guests said the flat was much nicer than it looked in the pictures. The compliment hid a problem. The photographs were losing her the guests who never booked at all.

With new listings appearing on Airbnb every day, our brief was to make her apartment stand out without flattering it. The pictures had to show the flat as it really is, so nobody would arrive expecting something else.

Before the shoot, our team staged the apartment. Our photographers then chose the angles, worked with the light and used a wide lens to show each room at its best.

Once the new photos went up on Airbnb, interest in the apartment rose sharply. Bookings followed, and after them the nightly price.
